Dear Friends:
Next month, DC Vote will honor veterans and their patriotic service to our country by demanding democracy for all. Young men and women from the District of Columbia have proudly served their country in every American conflict, yet Washingtonians are denied representation in the Congress that sends our youth to war. Join us on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11, as we recognize DC's sons and daughters who have served us so honorably and nobly. Who: | | DC soldiers and veterans, their families, DC Vote, local elected official and community leaders
| What: | | Veterans Day Rally 2008
| When: | | Tuesday, November 11, 12:00 noon - 1:30 PM
| Where: | | Upper Senate Park (Constitution & Delaware Avenues, NE) Nearest Metro: Union Station, Red Line
| Why: | | With just a week past the November 4 elections, DC Vote and the DC voting rights movement are hitting the ground running to let the new Congress and presidential administration know that it's time to let DC vote. Join us as we celebrate the service of our veterans and demand the vote for them and all DC residents. | We need hundreds of DC residents, veterans, students activists and supporters of democracy and DC voting rights to help us make this rally a huge success. Let us know if your organization is interested in becoming a supporter by posting this event on your Web site and encouraging family and friends to attend. If you can join us on November 11, or want to help promote this event, RSVP to Erica Spell by e-mail at espell@dcvote.org or by phone at 202.462.6000 x18.
