About This Conference:

According to a new DoD policy released Sept.1, 2008, military treatment commanders and all levels of commanders and healthcare providers through DoD must incorporate "altered standards of care" into their mass casualty plans. This will include a critical analysis at local levels of delivery of emergency response and medical care plans during a pandemic and other public healthcare emergencies . More information can be found at http://www.health.mil/Content/docs/pdfs/policies/2008/08-010.pdf

The Altered Standards of Care & Surge Capacity Conference will bring together an influential gathering of medical and public health leaders to teach preparedness planners at the Federal, State, regional, community, and health systems levels how to plan and support surge capacity in healthcare systems and develop altered standards of care to meet mass casualty needs during all-hazard and hazard-specific emergencies.
