Saturday: Reform starts in Washington

Organizing for America
"If we don't get it done this year, we're not going to get it done."

That's how President Obama -- briefing leading Organizing for America volunteers in our health care effort -- described our fight to pass real health care reform in 2009.

This campaign could not be more important or more urgent. And this weekend, it's coming to a living room near you.

This Saturday, June 6th, supporters like you are organizing Health Care Organizing Kickoffs all over the country. This is your chance to join up with local supporters, get the facts, make a plan for building support in your neighborhood, and start putting that plan into action.

The health care campaign is really heating up. Just yesterday, the President wrote Congress to re-emphasize his principles for reform: reduce costs, guarantee choice -- including the choice of a public insurance option -- and ensure quality care for all.

Now it's up to us to build a groundswell of grassroots pressure strong enough to get it done.

President Obama put it best on the call: "This is our big chance," he said, "to prove that the movement that started during the campaign isn't over -- we're just getting started."

So this Saturday, June 6th, that's exactly what we're going to do -- but it can't happen without you.
