Presidential debates are the one night where tens of millions of Americans pay attention to politics.  Seventy million people tuned into the Vice Presidential debate last week.  If Ralph and Matt were allowed to debate, we would have a three way race.

To protest our campaign's exclusion, we are organizing house parties for Tuesday night's Presidential Debate, October the 7th, and we need your help to demand that Ralph be included in the upcoming debates.  We will do this through mass blogging on debate related live chats.

Click here to download a list of online blogging sites that will be live on debate night. It's also a chance to collect contributions for the campaign and to meet local Nader/Gonzalez supporters.

Here's how it will work:

  • Find a house party.  We have asked each state coordinator to arrange as many households as possible to hold "blogging the debates" parties.  Each attendee will be asked to contribute online ($10-$15 or however much they can afford) for the campaign, and bring a laptop with which to blog/chat.  If you have not yet been invited to a house party and would like to attend, please contact your state coordinator or you may email Rob Socket at rob@votenader.org with any questions.
  • Organize your own.  If there is not a scheduled house party in your community, you have two options. One would be to get a few fellow Nader supporters together and hold your own house party.  The other would be to blog the debates at home on your personal computer. Don't forget to make an online contribution as this event is a fundraiser as well. We are asking everyone to give as much as they can, within their means.
  • Print out talking pointsClick here to download a list of talking points and key web links to post in your blog or chat. Share them with your fellow bloggers. This information is not found in typical mass media. Please feel free to copy and paste into your chats.

Ralph Nader and/or Matt Gonzalez will respond after the debate to share their responses to Obama and McCain.

The two party controlled debate commission is freezing Nader/Gonzalez out of the debates.  Let's work together to inject our message to the tens of millions who will be watching the debate this Tuesday.

 Thank you.
