Friday night, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann made a series of utterly outrageous slurs before a national television audience.
Bachmann claimed that Senator Obama and his wife Michelle may hold "anti-American views" and even called for the media to investigate other members of Congress to "find out if they are pro-America or anti-America." If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch the video here. These disgusting comments have no place in our public discourse. This is not the first time Bachmann has made outrageous remarks but together,
we can make sure this is the last. We have to make an immediate decision.
With your support, we can commit to defeating Bachmann from Congress right now. Our latest DCCC poll shows Red to Blue Democratic candidate Elwyn Tinklenberg within 4 points of defeating Bachmann just two weeks from now.
If the DCCC community raises another $100,000, we can further expand the playing field to taking on Bachmann. This is an aggressive strategy but I know
we can count on your immediate support.We have seen what happens when public figures use this type of McCarthyist language to further their political will. We don't get many opportunities like this to immediately hold them accountable at the ballot box. We can commit ourselves right now to not only ensuring that Barack Obama is President but he presides over a Congress that doesn't undercut him with these types of divisive, hate-filled rants.
