The second Presidential debate is just hours away. Last time we were wondering whether John McCain would even show up. This time the big question is – how low will he go?
Yesterday, as the stock market plunged again by triple digits, the McCain-Palin team was silent on the economy but full of Karl Rove-style attacks. Republican House candidates followed suit by launching desperate and despicable attacks while Democrats talk about delivering the change America needs. We can't let them get away with it. Not this year.
We had an emergency strategy session to discuss which candidates needed urgent resources to fight back immediately against the Republicans' attack-and-distract politics.
At the strategy session, we developed the October Emergency Ad Fund and midnight tonight marks the deadline to have the financial resources needed in hand to purchase ad time for next week's buys. We are just $300,000 away from the goal.

Yesterday, the McCain campaign gave us a window into their desperation. A top McCain advisor was quoted as saying, "if we talk about the economy, we're going to lose." Considering that John McCain and his Republican friends' only plan instead is to throw out half-truths, mistruths, and downright lies, we need all the help we can to fight back and spread our message of change. With 75 races in play, we are the foundation for the Obama-Biden victory.
We need to help all of our Democratic House candidates fight this attack-and-distract mentality. Every dollar you give goes right back out the door to help one of our candidates buy more expensive TV time to fight these attacks.
But the clock is ticking down on our midnight deadline to make a difference.
