Meet the Candidate Event

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee

Dear Friends,

Last November, Larry Kissell, a former mill worker and current public school teacher, came within 329 votes of defeating Republican Robin Hayes in North Carolina's 8th district. But his campaign came with a personal cost that he's still paying.

Larry was so dedicated that he put a large part of his campaign costs on his own personal credit card. Now he needs our help more than ever. That's why I want you to meet Larry for yourself and help him continue his fight.

Please join myself and Speaker Pelosi on Wednesday, August 1st for Larry Kissell's "Retire the Debt Reception" at Democratic National Headquarters in Washington, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. House Democrats are so committed to helping Larry Kissell that your generous gift of $50 will be matched 2–to–1 to help Larry wipe away his 2006 debt.

If you're unable to attend the reception, please consider giving a generous gift of $50 to help retire the personal debt that Larry accrued from his 2006 campaign. House Democrats will still match your generous contribution 2–1, tripling its impact

Contribute a generous gift of $50 to help retire Larry's debt.

North Carolina's 8th district is one of our best opportunities to expand our Democratic Majority. Despite being outspent 2–to–1 by Republican Rubber Stamp Robin Hayes, Larry turned the race into a photo–finish. This year, Larry has picked up right where he left off by running a strong campaign because, unlike Robin Hayes, Larry Kissell understands the problems people in the district face.

Republican Robin Hayes has continued to rubber stamp President Bush's failed policy in Iraq. It's time for a change and long past time for a New Direction. Larry Kissell will bring the change America and the people of North Carolina's 8th district deserve.

That's why I'm hoping you can join Speaker Pelosi and me on Wednesday, August 1st to meet Larry Kissell for yourself and help retire his 2006 debt. Our "Retire the Debt Reception" will be held at Democratic National Headquarters in Washington, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm.

If you're unable to attend the reception, please help us wipe away his 2006 debt with a generous gift of $50. House Democrats will match your generous contribution 2–1, tripling its impact.

Contribute a generous gift of $50 to help retire Larry's debt.

Please help Larry retire his 2006 campaign debt so he can retire Robin Hayes from Congress in 2008.

Sincerely,

Chris Van Hollen
DCCC Chair

P.S. While Robin Hayes has a rolodex full of powerful special interest friends to call, Larry Kissell has you, his grassroots supporters. Please support a true grassroots Democrat by helping us retire Larry Kissell's 2006 campaign debt. House Democrats will match your generous contribution 2–1, tripling its impact.
