GET OUT THE VOTE EVENTS

Between now and Election Day - November 7 - we have a great deal of hard work that needs to be done to GET OUT THE VOTE and elect our Democratic candidates. We will be sending you daily messages about what you can do to ensure a Democratic victory. There's much to do throughout Maryland and in our neighboring battleground states. I will get the information to you as quickly as I receive it. So the number 1 thing you can do for now is to check your e-mails two and three times a day so you don't miss any notices. Remember this is a campaign, we're entering into the final two weeks and things
are done quickly and last minute. Stay tuned - here's a beginning of things to come: GORE-LIEBERMAN VOLUNTEERS - VISIBILITY EVENTS BETWEEN NOW AND NOVEMBER 7 - ELECTION DAY
Following is a list of events that everyone is welcome to join. We're asking our Gore-Lieberman volunteers to just show up and wear your t-shirts, buttons, hold signs and distribute literature. If you don't have any of these things, you can pick up materials or purchase a t-shirt at our Kensington office (address below). We're building on the momentum created by the congressional candidates at the events listed below CONGRESSMAN AL WYNN (D-4th) Please join Congressman Wynn "waving" to morning commuters between 7:30 am and 8:30 am on the following days: Tuesday, October 24, at Queens Chapel Road and Eastern Avenue Thursday, October 26, at New Hampshire Avenue & Powder Mill Road Friday, October 27, at Oxon Hill Road and Indian Head Highway Tuesday, October 31, at Route 202 and Lottsford Road Thursday, November 2, at St. Barnabas Road and 28th Parkway Friday, November 3, at Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road Monday, November 6, at Hill Road and Central Avenue CONGRESSMAN BEN CARDIN (D-3rd) Ben Cardin debates Bob Ehrlich at UMBC (10/23) Congressmen Ben Cardin (3rd District, Gore surrogate) and Bob Ehrlich (2nd District, Bush surrogate) will have a presidential surrogates debate this Monday night, October 23, at 9 pm. at UMBC's University Ballroom. UMBC is accessible either from Exit 12A/B of the 695 Beltway, or take the 195 Exit westbound (away from BWI) of I-95. Ben Cardin's Campaign Rally (10/25) Congressman Ben Cardin will host a really fun campaign rally on Wednesday, October 25, from 6-8, at the Baltimore Museum of Industry (1415 Key Highway, near Fort McHenry). Join hundreds of other Democrats at this old fashioned rally. Food, beer, and fun for all! CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE TERRY LIERMAN Hear the candidates discuss the issues: October 24, 12:00 PM: a forum sponsored by NARFE #581 and the Asbury Home. Asbury Methodist Village, Parker Hall, main entrance at corner of Lost Knife Rd and Oldenhal Ave. in Gaithersburg Metros & Terry Gore-Lieberman Volunteers should join Terry Lierman at the Metros. Terry will be greeting folks at various Metro stops. If you have time and can be at one of the following locations, please just go and look for Terry, wear your Gore-Lieberman t-shirt or buttons, or hold a sign. Monday 10/23: Bethesda Metro: 6:30 AM Wheaton Metro: 5:00 PM Tuesday, 10/24: Shady Grove Metro 6:30 AM Wednesday, 10/25: Friendship Metro: 6:30 AM Thursday 10/26: Grosvenor Metro: 6:30 AM White Flint Metro: 5:00 PM Friday,10/27: Wheaton Metro: 6:30 AM Monday 10/30: Twinbrook Metro 6:30 AM Rockville Metro: 5:00 PM Tuesday 10/31: Glenmont Metro: 6:30 AM Wednesday 11/1: Friendship Metro 6:30 AM Thursday 11/2: Shady Grove Metro 6:30 AM Gore-Lieberman Volunteers should join Terry Lierman at GIANT FOOD STORES - This is a heads up to let you know that next weekend, we will be at the many of the Giants in Montgomery County between 10:00 and 2:00 pm. Please try to set aside a couple of hours to help us out. We will send out the full list of locations in a later message. October 28 (Saturday) - Potomac Day Festival Next Saturday, the Potomac Chamber of Commerce will hold its 20th annual Potomac Day Festival. We want to have dozens of Gore-Lieberman volunteers at this event. This is an area of undecided voters and we need you to help them decide. Plus its just plain good old fun. Where : Potomac Village (Cross Roads - River Rd and Falls Rd) When : October 28, 2000 10:30am-3:00pm (arrive early because streets are closed during the parade) Events : Art Show, Parade, SPCA Pet Walk, Children’s Festival (all activities FREE of charge), Craft and Antique Show, Antique Car Show, Business Fair, Food Pavilion, and much more!!!!!! Volunteers will meet at Starbucks in the shopping center at River Road and Falls Road at 10:15 am. Andrew Felber has agreed to captain this event and will have materials for distribution. So look for Andrew at Starbucks, get your caffeine fix and then go to work!!! PHONE BANKS - We really need you to help out. Call Kensington and sign up for either Bethesda, Rockville, Silver Spring or Kensington. KENSINGTON OFFICE - We need people helping out in the office and helping us to plan these events and to captain these events. October 28,29,30 - The Innerloopers Present and Evening of Muscial Satire-- Beating the Bushes...with Al Gore Rhythms - This fun show begins at 8:30 pm.
