Dear Friends:

Join Students for DC Vote and Campus Progress for an evening of creative expression! Project S.T.A.N.D. (Students Together Advocating for National Democracy) is an arts and humanities event showcasing the unique perspectives of DC youth on the topic of DC voting rights through various art forms including music, spoken word and visual art.

An artists reception, hosted by Miss DC 2008, will provide an opportunity for DC youth to display and discuss their visual artwork. Notables will include local visual artists such as Jahi Foster-Bey, who will be featured in the May 2009 issue of Spin Magazine. The program will include performances by "Free DC" songwriter and performer, Rasi Caprice, Def Jam poet, Sciryl, and "Demand the Vote" songwriter and performer, Joe L. Da Vessel. Come out and enjoy free food and raffle prizes! Admission is free.

  • When: Tuesday, April 14, 2009; An artists reception at 5:30 PM; Program is from 6:30 to 8:30 PM
