The Karl Rove machine is already in full swing, running an attack ad against Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The ad was funded by a conservative group that until recently was headed by Sam Fox -- the financial backer of the infamous
Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
Some media outlets even went so far as attacking the Speaker for visiting Syria even though the bipartisan Iraq Study Group recommended a diplomatic effort in the region. Republicans have falsely accused other Democrats of voting for "retreat and defeat" in Iraq.
