As the health care debate has heated up, we've seen more and more media attention paid to political point scoring and special interest lies. Amidst all the noise, you don't hear as much about the families that go bankrupt each day trying to keep up with spiraling health care costs -- or about insurance company bureaucrats who every day ration care to maximize profit. But we haven't forgotten why we're fighting so hard for reform. In a matter of days, Congress will return to Washington, D.C. to put together the final legislation. Before they leave, they are carefully gauging support back home, and it's essential that we thank those who are standing up for reform and let the rest know their voters demand action. So we're organizing a nationwide effort: thousands of "Health Insurance Reform Now: Let's get it done!" events across the country. There's a big event near you -- will you be there? Click here to find your local event and RSVP. Pundits and politicians alike are paying close attention, so we need as many folks there as possible to show the public strongly supports change. At each exciting event, we'll hear from local and national speakers, present thousands of declarations of support for the President and health insurance reform gathered from folks in your area, and hear the latest news in the national fight for reform. Your presence will make a big difference. Every person there will make a profound statement to the media, Congress and our opposition: We will not be deceived, bullied, or frightened out of fighting for the quality, affordable health care every American deserves. When thousands show up across the country, it'll be clear that we stand together in support of reform -- and we're standing with our members of Congress who are working hard to fix our broken system. So make sure to show up to an event near you -- and don't forget to bring a friend. Please, RSVP for an event near you today: http://my.barackobama.com/HIRNevents Thanks -- and keep up the fight, Mitch Mitch Stewart Director Organizing for America |
