Q: Will Spyware Doctor be available soon for Windows Vista 64 bit? John

A: John, the latest version of Spyware Doctor and Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus (version 6.0.1.440 or above) now works on Windows Vista 64 bit. You can download and install from www.pctools.com/product/download/

Q: As a new client I have installed Registry Mechanic which hooks into gear as soon as I turn my PC on and proceeds to do a scan which holds me up inspecting my emails. How do I stop it doing this so I can do the Scan at a more convenient time? Ray

A: Hi Ray, great question. You can enable/disable Registry Mechanic to start up under Options, Automatic startup and select disabled.

Q: This may sound naive but a tech in a computer store said "you dont need a firewall if you are using a router" feeding three home computers. Is this correct? Jerry

A: Hi Jerry, some high-end routers include hardware based firewall, these are usually difficult to understand and to use effectively for home users. As an alternative, a software based firewall like the free stand-alone PC Tools Firewall Plus is much more popular as its able to display much more details regarding your internet activities and provide close to hardware level protection if used correctly.

Q: I'm changing to another computer soon and I was wondering what would be the easiest way to transfer my programs to the new one instead of buying programs. Charlie

A: Charlie, there is no need to purchase another license for your new computer, simply uninstall the PC Tools program(s) from your old computer and then download your product(s) again on your new computer from www.pctools.com/product/download/ and register with your license code that you received when you purchased. You can retrieve your license code from www.pctools.com/lostcode/

Q: I bought a license for registry mechanic good for 3 computers. I want to add a fourth. How do I do it? Lloyd

A: Hi Lloyd, you will have to buy a second license for Registry Mechanic for your fourth computer as your first license can only be used on up to three computers.

Q: I purchased Registry Mechanic and spyware protection from you a while ago and it said something about it being good for several computers. Now my wife's laptop needs the same thing and I was wondering if what I purchased would cover hers. Jodie

A: Hello Jodie, yes, your initial purchase of Registry Mechanic will cover your wifes computer too. Your license can be used on up to 3 computers for the period of your subscription, simply download your product again and register with your license code that you received when you purchased. You can retrieve your license code from www.pctools.com/lostcode/.
