Senate Passes Conrad Plan to Boost Funding for North Dakota Schools

Dear Friends:

As someone who has asked for updates on education issues before Congress, you might be interested to learn that today the U.S. Senate passed important education legislation I wrote that will boost funding for schools in North Dakota by as much as $10 million annually. The legislation was included as a provision in a broader public-lands bill.

The provision allows for changes to the management and distribution of North Dakota trust funds that hold the proceeds collected from the sale of public lands.  In North Dakota, an additional $10 million for schools could mean a dramatic improvement for our students. Click here to view the legislation, or here to be directed to my website for more details on this provision.

Sincerely,

KENT CONRAD
United States Senate
