President Obama's first major opportunity

Divided We Fail.org--It's time for Health Care and Financial Security for all

Dear Friends,

President Obama will have an opportunity to act on three major health care reforms in his first days in office. But real reform -- like everything else in Washington -- does not come easy.

Make sure President Obama knows that you support these reforms that will soon be crossing his desk.

Moments ago, as we watched President Barack Obama take the oath of office, three major health care reform initiatives were quickly making their way to the new president's desk:

• Ensuring more children have access to adequate health care;
• Advancing medical recordkeeping into the 21st century; and
• Investing in medical research to improve the medical care

Phillip, we urgently need your help. President Obama said during the campaign that he would support these initiatives, but he needs to know that you -- and the other 1.6 million Divided We Fail activists -- support them, too. Because, like everything else in Washington, real reform does not come easy.

Make sure President Obama knows that you support these crucial reforms that will be crossing his desk in his first days in office.

With these proposals in Congress, we are already making great progress in the Divided We Fail agenda.

Our mission is to advance reforms on health care and financial security, two major issues that can at times feel very different. But the reality is the rising cost of health care is a crucial part of our economic woes. Just look at the way that Congress has linked these health care reforms with the urgent economic recovery package.

These reform efforts will soon be on President Obama's desk. That's when he will have the opportunity to pave the way for meaningful reforms that finally ensure every American has long-term financial security and access to affordable, quality health care.

Tell President Obama that you -- and 1.6 million other Divided We Fail activists - support these urgent reforms.

Then, please invite your friends and family to join you in taking advantage of this moment -- when the country can come together and make history.

Sincerely,

The Divided We Fail Team
