Dear Supporters,
For anyone who thinks this election is already won and there's nothing to worry about,
I have one word for you: Florida.
We all remember what happened in my home state of Florida in 2000, when the lack of voter protections cost Al Gore the Presidency. In 2000 it was Florida. In 2004, we heard stories from Ohio. We can't let it happen to Barack Obama or any of our House candidates anywhere in America in 2008.
With at least 35 Democrats likely to win or lose their races by a handful of votes, we are depending on you to help us win.
We wouldn't ask again but we literally need
$110,000 more in the bank by Monday morning to wire back out to candidates for the final 48 hours. A gift of $25 could be the difference in keeping a race alive.
If we are unable to make Monday's wire transfer, there will be Democratic candidates defeated by only a few votes on Election Day. Contribute $25, $50, or $100 to the DCCC's Voter Protection Fund before Monday morning. Your generous gift will ensure that every vote cast is a vote counted.
I am proud to represent Florida in Congress and even prouder to be the mother of three. Like every mother in America, I'm reminded of the incredible stakes in this election every time I fill up the gas tank, buy groceries, and think about paying for college. It is for every middle class family in America that we need to elect Barack Obama and strengthen our Majority in Congress to take our country in a new direction.
This year, Democrats have built the largest get-out-the-vote program in history. But without the right protections on the ground, who's going to make sure that all of those votes for Barack Obama and Democratic House candidates will actually be counted?
Contribute $25, $50, or $100 to the DCCC's Voter Protection Fund before Monday morning. Your generous gift will ensure that every vote cast is a vote counted.
We know the Republican playbook when it comes to voter suppression. We've seen them intimidate voters, make false accusations of fraud, and go running to the courts whenever they don't like the results. It's already started again this year.
By contributing to the DCCC's Voter Protection Fund, you'll be part of the team that said no way, no, how, not again in 2008.
Please help today.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
P.S. The DCCC is putting eyes and ears on the ground in all of our key districts to make sure that every voter is protected and every vote is counted.
Please contribute to the DCCC Voter Protection Fund before Monday morning to have everything in place by Election Day.
