The Aalia Group, Inc. & Raising Expectations, Inc.
901 Newton Street, NE,
(near Catholic University metro stop on red line)
This public event will be televised before a live studio audience at DCTV Studios and will be followed by a social gathering.
The program features an educational dialogue that highlights approaches to mental health treatment within urban communities. Our distinguished and diverse panel will grapple with complex issues confronting mental health professionals and patients, such as disparities in access, undiagnosed symptoms, and treatment options for some of the most serious forms of mental illness affecting highly-dense and at-risk urban populations throughout America. Public Service Announcements (PSAs) on these issues have been developed by and with the help of DC-area youth actors and Crescent Moon spoken word artists. The PSAs will be premiered at this event.
