- Health Services Research Dissertation Awards
Please note that dissertation grant opportunities are available to all full-time students working on their dissertation research, including National Research Service Award (NRSA) predoctoral fellows who are at the dissertation stage, as well as students who are not or were formerly on an NRSA grant.

- Fellowship Grants
We offer two types of fellowship grants: predoctoral awards to promote diversity in health services research and postdoctoral awards for both clinical and research scientists.
· Scientist Awards
We recently expanded our career development opportunities to include support for Mentored Research Scientists. This opportunity will run parallel with our ongoing Mentored Clinical Scientist program. In addition, we are continuing our Independent Scientist Development Program, which is open to both clinical and research doctorates.

· Special Emphasis Notices
We are interested in applications that address areas encompassed in our current research portfolios, which include Comparative Effectiveness, Health IT, Patient Safety, Prevention/Care Management, Value, and Innovations/Emerging Issues in Health Care. In particular, we would like to draw your attention to four Special Emphasis Notices we have published. These encourage submission of mentored and independent career development applications in four areas and encourage dissertation applications that pertain to Health Information Technology.
