I wanted to ask for your help with two critically-important races that could increase our Democratic House Majority on Nov. 4th.
In
Maryland's 1st District, State's Attorney Frank Kratovil is running against Andy Harris, who defeated Republican Congressman Wayne Gilchrest in a February primary. Gilchrest has endorsed Kratovil, but the Club for Growth has begun running ads in the district attacking Kratovil and he needs our support.
Glenn Nye, a former Foreign Service Officer who volunteered to serve in Afghanistan and Iraq, is challenging Rep. Thelma Drake in Virginia's 2nd District. Nye received the State Department's Superior Honor Award for leading a rescue of 26 American citizens and negotiating the release of an American hostage. Congresswoman Drake's vulnerabilities, combined with Glenn Nye's great profile for this district, makes this a great pick-up opportunity.
The DCCC is organizing a
phone bank starting next Monday, October 27th through Thursday, October 30th, and Monday/Tuesday, November 3rd and 4th to make GOTV calls for Glenn Nye and Frank Kratovil. We will be calling from the 2nd floor of the DCCC. Calling scripts and pizza will be provided! Together we will make thousands of calls that will put these great candidates over the top.

We are also organizing
canvassing trips to the Maryland and Virginia Coordinated Campaigns to support Democratic turnout in VA-02 and MD-01 on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2. The trip to the Virginia Beach area will be overnight and will leave from the DCCC at 8:00 am on Saturday and return Sunday night. Hotel rooms, food and transportation will be provided. There will be two day trips to Maryland; Saturday to the Baltimore area and Sunday to the Eastern Shore area. Each will leave the DCCC at 8:00 am and return late that night. Meals and transportation will be provided.
