Dear Friend, I am writing to you from the Republican Convention because I know how important it is that we not cede any ground or let any Karl Rove attack go unanswered. Next year, when President Obama and Vice President Biden take their oaths of office surrounded by a larger Democratic Majority in Congress, remember what you did in August to make it happen. Thanks to you, we raised an astounding $1.2 million in grassroots donations for our Denver to November matching victory drive during the Convention. Because of this incredible grassroots outpouring, the world saw Democrats speak with one voice about the urgent need for a New Direction. And I am here now to make sure no one stops our momentum. Clearly the Republicans sense that the tide of history is with our Democratic candidates and our agenda for change. That's why they wasted no time in resuming their baseless attacks on Barack Obama and all of our candidates who are fighting to end their disastrous policies. Last night, President Bush even spoke to their convention in the Twin Cities to reassure them that John McCain will continue his and Dick Cheney's policies for another four years. Thanks to your support, we are already on the air in an unprecedented amount of districts. We have also created a Republican Convention Zone to keep track and be prepared to fight back against baseless GOP attacks.
