The House today will likely consider a bill that would gut DC's local gun laws. Take Action Now! - Call Representative Travis Childers (D-MS), lead sponsor of the bill, at 202.225.4306 and tell him to respect DC's democratic rights to pass their own gun legislation.

The Childers Amendment, H.R. 6691, dismisses local self governance and increases the risks of danger to DC's residents. Yesterday, DC Vote released poll data which shows nearly 7 out of 10 Americans oppose Congress passing a law to eliminate Washington, DC's local gun laws. Additionally, 6 out of 10 Americans believe Washington, DC will become less safe if H.R. 6691 is passed. DC Vote and our coalition partners are actively working to defeat this amendment.
