| Dear Friend, Progressive Majority is drawing the line on redistricting. For too long, conservatives have controlled the states. They've drawn district lines in their favor, marginalized Democratic voters and affected the outcome of elections long before Election Day. They've invested in winning state legislative seats to control redistricting and control elections. After the 2000 Census, they redrew districts in Wisconsin, Ohio and Pennsylvania - making them harder for Democrats to win and making them battleground states in every national and statewide election since. Now, the far right has its sights on the 2010 Census and the next round of redistricting - but this time it won't be so easy for them to carve up districts for their own gain. | | Kristen Dexter | Progressive Majority has a winning strategy to ensure the lines are drawn fairly and voters - not right-wing activists - have the say in who wins elections. Progressive Majority's number-one goal this year is to take control of the Wisconsin Legislature, a key state in the redistricting battle. In Wisconsin, the governor and Legislature are solely in charge of redistricting. | | Lou Ann Weix | Progressive Majority made history in 2006 when we took over the Wisconsin Senate. This year, we're just three seats away from taking over the Wisconsin Assembly. | | Penny Bernard Schaber | With your help, we can elect strong progressive candidates to the Wisconsin Assembly, such as Fred Clark, Kristen Dexter, Penny Bernard Schaber and Lou Ann Weix. These leaders will deliver progressive legislation and fair redistricting for Wisconsin and will help keep Democrats in control nationally. | | Fred Clark | When Progressive Majority recruits, trains and elects progressives, we protect progressive values across the nation. It's time for progressives to take charge and take back America! Sincerely, Gloria A. Totten
