This is the time. Anticipation is in the air. In less than 43 days, we will elect a new president. In 17 weeks, we will inaugurate a new president. The Bush era will be over and - if we care enough and work hard enough - a new era of wise policies and sound leadership will begin. You and I need to commit ourselves to riding our energy, enthusiasm and passion all the way to victory in November.
But we are still at risk.
The reason is complacency.
Over these next 43 days, we have to show our candidates that we are ready, willing and able to do whatever is necessary to ensure a memorable election night. In less than a week, we will face a critical time in our campaign: both the first presidential debate and the final quarterly FEC filing on September 30th.
