My Convention Party

Paul Begala
Dear Friend,
Come Together to Help Democrats Win

If you're like me, you've been logging some time watching the Olympics where athletes from all over the world are setting world records and making history.

It's great fun to watch and cheer from a distance. But when the last race is run in Beijing, it's going to be time to shift gears. You and I can be spectators for the Olympics, but we've got to be active participants in these elections.

The general election officially begins when Barack Obama accepts the nomination. And you can make sure your active role in helping him and other Democratic candidates starts at exactly the same time.

Our good friends at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee have made it easy for you to host a night of nomination party.

Donna Brazile said it best when she launched the DCCC's MyConventionParty site: August 28th isn't about getting together to watch, it's about coming together to win.

So, come on, make that little extra effort that can turn the Thursday after next into a powerful launching pad for the Democratic Party's fall campaign. Invite folks over to your house to see Barack Obama's speech and to donate $10, $15, $20 each to get the general election effort to support Democratic candidates off to a strong start.

Believe me, the DCCC's Internet Team has made it amazingly easy for you to make your party happen.

Let's come together to win. Sign up now at dccc.org/myconventionparty

Thanks so much for all you are doing to help Democrats win - and for helping make August 28th a powerful display of our grassroots strength.

Get your party started,
Paul Begala

P.S. Remember, if you can get 5 or more people to donate to your Night of Nomination party by August 22nd you'll be invited to an exclusive campaign briefing from DCCC Chair Chris Van Hollen during the convention. You better get busy!
