This Saturday, August 16th, I'll be in Virginia as part of the "Register for Change" cross-country bus tour. Over the next few weeks we'll be visiting towns and cities in every corner of the country -- even states where you might not expect Democrats to show up. I want to show Americans how our people-powered movement is changing the country, by stopping in as many places as we can to register new voters and open up our political process. Voter turnout is good for democracy -- and good for the Democratic Party and our candidates. That's why we'll be going neighborhood-to-neighborhood and door-to-door to spread our message of change and build our 50-state strategy -- by registering new voters and helping our candidates up and down the ballot. Join me and see what the "Register for Change" tour is all about. The "Register for Change" tour kicked off in Crawford, TX, right down the road from George W. Bush's Texas Ranch. It was a great opportunity to send the message that even in President Bush's backyard, there are voters ready to say no to John McCain's promise of a third Bush term. And unlike our opponents, this bus tour won't be handing out double-talk on issues that matter to ordinary Americans. Instead, we'll be bringing more people into the political process by registering new voters every step of the way. Barack Obama and I are committed to building strength and excitement in the Democratic Party -- not just in traditionally "blue" states, but in all 50 states. We share the belief that if Democrats show up and ask for people's votes, we can win everywhere. Come see the "Register for Change" bus and help strengthen our movement for change. We're taking the "Register for Change" bus to places in America you wouldn't expect. But we'll need your help when we get there. See you soon. Thanks, Howard Dean |
