OBAMA SAYS: "We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.... That's not leadership. That's not going to happen." -Senator Barack Obama, Campaign Speech, May 2008- That's Barack Hussein Obama's solution to the high price of gasoline... that's his energy policy -- in his own words! In other words, Obama's energy policy is for you to eat less, drive a small death-trap of a car and let your family freeze in the winter. Or to put it another way, it's the same old elitist liberal gobbledygook.  The problem is NOT that you are being forced to pay over $4.00 for a gallon of gasoline at the pump... the problem is NOT that your family is facing the prospect of a long cold winter because of rising energy costs... the problem is NOT that you're paying insanely high prices for food at the grocery store because of rising energy costs. The problem is "bitter" folks like YOU that "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like [you]" AREN'T SUFFERING ENOUGH!  If you just suffered MORE, then maybe you wouldn't be "apathetic" or "cling to guns or religion." Let's increase suffering in America! Let's conserve and save energy so China and other countries can have more.  After all, THEY DESERVE IT... we don't.  The United States of America is nothing more than a rich and arrogant nation whose day in the sun has passed! And just MAYBE -- once we realized the folly of our evil and despicable ways -- third-world dictators and petty tyrants around the world will start to like us! Does this kind of liberal hate-America arrogance remind you of Jimmy Carter?  In the 70's when we waited in long lines for hours to get our ration of gasoline in the summer and watched our families freeze in the winter, Jimmy Carter told us to lower our thermostats and put on a sweater. Essentially he told us to get used to the fact that the United States of America was no longer a great nation! The Wall Street Journal apparently saw the parallels: "For a candidate claiming the mantle of 'change,' Mr. Obama's energy policy might as well have been drafted in the 1970s. He supports punitive new windfall profits taxes on Big Oil, which won't do anything for supply; as well as at least $10 billion a year in new subsidies for 'alternative' energy technologies, which may take years or decades to pan out, if they ever do." Here's the problem: If President George W. Bush or some other conservative made such an arrogant statement which -- in my opinion (and I'm sure in yours too) -- shows a deep-seated undercurrent of disdain for the American way of life, it would be on the front page of the New York Times and the lead story on every major television network. But President Bush didn't make that statement... Barack Hussein Obama did and the media is SILENT!  The vast majority of Americans (Republicans, Democrats and Independents) will NEVER KNOW HE UTTERED THOSE WORDS! Barack Hussein Obama plays the class-envy card like a virtuoso.  If Americans have to suffer... that's okay...  Obama is fighting for the little guy! Or is he? According to the Denver Post: "'There is a choice that is before folks,' said Hari Sevugan, a spokesman in Democrat Barack Obama's presidential campaign. 'Do we want leadership that's been tied to the folks making money from (high gas prices), or do we want leadership that's fighting for us on this?'" But even the liberal New York Times noted that Obama "praised" the recent Farm Bill, a huge boondoggle that benefits major agribusiness by extending government subsidies for corn ethanol. The same article also states: "Mr. Obama is running as a reformer who is seeking to reduce the influence of special interests. But like any other politician, he has powerful constituencies that help shape his views. And when it comes to domestic ethanol, almost all of which is made from corn, he also has advisers and prominent supporters with close ties to the industry at a time when energy policy is a point of sharp contrast between the parties and their presidential candidates." But wait a minute, alternative fuels like ethanol are great for the environment and reduce the price of gasoline at the pump... RIGHT? WRONG!  Even the liberal magazine Rolling Stone has weighed in on that myth: "Ethanol doesn't burn cleaner than gasoline, nor is it cheaper. Our current ethanol production represents only 3.5 percent of our gasoline consumption -- yet it consumes twenty percent of the entire U.S. corn crop, causing the price of corn to double in the last two years and raising the threat of hunger in the Third World." "So why bother? Because the whole point of corn ethanol is not to solve America's energy crisis, but to generate one of the great political boondoggles of our time. "And since America provides two-thirds of all global corn exports, the impact is being felt around the world. In Mexico, tortilla prices have jumped sixty percent, leading to food riots. In Europe, butter prices have spiked forty percent, and pork prices in China are up twenty percent. By 2025, according to Runge and Senauer, rising food prices caused by the demand for ethanol and other biofuels could cause as many as 600 million more people to go hungry worldwide." Since when is taking money from the wallets of American taxpayers to subsidize something that could cause HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of people to go hungry being for the little guy? Isn't Barack Hussein Obama the man who wants to take what could -- according to some estimates -- amount to $845 BILLION dollars from American taxpayers and give it to a United Nations agency to supposedly alleviate Global Poverty? Or was he simple against Global Poverty before he was for it? Every American NEEDS to know Barack Hussein Obama's REAL energy policy. Various polls are indicating that a vast majority of Americans support drilling for more oil domestically as one means of alleviating our energy problems . What's Obama's problem with drilling domestically? Perhaps, Ann Coulter said it best years ago: "When the free market does the exact thing liberals have been itching to do through taxation, they pretend to be appalled by high gas prices, hoping the public will forget that high gas prices are part of their agenda." It's nothing new.  Coulter again: "I would be more interested in what the Democrats had to say about high gas prices if these were not the same people who refused to let us drill for oil in Alaska, imposed massive restrictions on building new refineries, and who shut down the development of nuclear power in this country decades ago." "But it's too much having to watch Democrats wail about the awful calamity to poor working families of having to pay high gas prices. "Imposing punitive taxation on gasoline to force people to ride bicycles has been one of the left's main policy goals for years. "For decades Democrats have been trying to raise the price of gasoline so that the working class will stop their infernal car-driving and start riding on buses where they belong, while liberals ride in Gulfstream jets."
