Dear Phillip:

Candidates are expected to campaign in DC, Maryland, and Virginia between now and the Potomac Primary on February 12. Their appearances in the DC area gives us an excellent opportunity to raise the profile of DC voting rights.

If you're at a candidate event in the next week, please ask a question about DC voting rights. Here are examples of questions that were submitted to presidential candidates for the CNN/YouTube presidential debate in November.

Also, when you respond to requests for support, ask the candidates and their staff where they stand on the issue of DC voting rights. Ask them to put their position on their Web sites and mention it in their stump speeches.

DC Vote also has 'I Demand the Vote' signs and other educational material. Please come by our new office in Dupont Circle if you'd like to pick some up to bring with you to rallies and campaign events.

With your help, and your creativity, we can make DC voting rights part of the Potomac Primary!

Sincerely,

Ilir Zherka Executive Director
