Clinton looks past Obama and faults Bush - Yahoo! News: "Clinton looks past Obama and faults Bush"
By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer
NEW YORK - Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton celebrated her collection of Super Tuesday wins and looked past Democratic rival Barack Obama to take a swipe at President Bush and his Republican allies.
"You know tonight we are hearing the voices of people across America, people of all ages, of all colors, all faiths and all walks of life," she told supporters on Tuesday.
The New York senator is seeking to become the first woman president, while Obama would become the first black president.
Clinton did not direct any criticism toward the Illinois senator who is now her only remaining Democratic rival, instead focusing most of her attention on President Bush and his Republican allies.
"After seven years of a president who listens only to the special interests, you're ready for a president who brings your voice, your values and your dreams to your White House," she said. "And tonight, in record numbers, you voted not just to make history but to remake America," she said.
Clinton won in her adopted home of New York as well as in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Missouri, and Arkansas, where she was first lady for more than a decade. She also won caucuses in American Samoa.
And, she told her audience, "It's not over yet, because the polls are still open in California for a few more minutes."
She also congratulated Obama for his victories and said she looked forward to their debates.
Obama won Connecticut, Georgia, Alabama, Delaware, Utah and his home state of Illinois. He also prevailed in North Dakota, Minnesota and Kansas, three caucus states.
