You can feel it in the air -- 2008 is going to be an historic election where we once again will have a Democrat in the White House with a strong Democratic Majority in Congress.

On behalf of all of us here at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and our 2008 House candidates, I want to thank you for your generous participation in the DCCC's year-end fundraising efforts. You were part of a record-setting Matching Fund campaign that produced extraordinary grassroots support for candidates locked in dozens of highly competitive House races all across the country.

As we work to make this a "big change" election, there will be plenty of challenges ahead. Our Republican opponents won't go down to defeat easily. With their backs to the wall, they'll throw everything they've got at us -- and we'll have to be there for Democratic candidates every step of the way.

But, just as we did so convincingly with our successful end-of-year efforts, we'll stand and meet every challenge on the road to victory. And, when it's all said and done, we won't just win a bigger Democratic majority in the House. We'll win the opportunity to lead our country forward, sweeping aside all-out Republican efforts to block our progress.

Yes, we've got ten exciting and high-stakes months ahead of us. But, for now, all I want to do is simply thank you for getting this critical election year off to such a promising start.

I can't tell you how much your generosity means to all of us at the DCCC and all of the candidates who will be relying on our support to pull them through to victory in 2008.
