| A Computer in Every Classroom Mayor Fenty announces plans to put a working desktop computer in every DC Public Schools classroom by February. The $4 million initiative includes a price of $628 per computer and will also consist of infrastructure improvements such as network cables, power strips and access points. Read more. |

| HIV/AIDS: Stopping a Modern Epidemic Mayor Fenty and HIV/AIDS Administration Director Dr. Shannon Hader have announced the District's plan to combat the spread of HIV. | Supreme Court to Hear District Gun Control Case The Supreme Court of the United States has agreed to hear District of Columbia v. Heller, a case that will test whether the District's decades-old ban on handguns is constitutional. The District's attorneys will argue the case in March. Read more. |

| Mayor Kicks Off Fall Leaf Collection Season Mayor Fenty and DC Department of Public Works Director William Howland kicked off fall leaf collection season with a demonstration in Ward Seven.
