IOL: Clinton and Giuliani emerge as favourites: "Washington - Former New York mayor Rudolph Giuliani raced ahead on Thursday in opinion polls for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination over nearest rival Senator John McCain, as Senator Barack Obama cut into Hillary Clinton's lead among Democrats. Giuliani, who led McCain by six percentage points in December, now leads the Vietnam war veteran by 14 points, 38 to 24 percent, according to the nation-wide Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll. And 10 months before the first party primaries for the 2008 election, Clinton's lead over Obama has shrunk by seven points, going from 37-18 percent in December to 40-28 percent in the new poll."
