IOL: Stand by for fun in US polls, says top journo: "According to an old political adage, when the United States sneezes, the whole world catches a cold. So the American presidential election in November next year will, like its predecessors, be an event that will be scrutinised, observed, debated, analysed and argued with an intensity probably unmatched by any other similar political event. But the 2008 US election is also going to be huge fun, predicts the doyen of newspaper editors, Ben Bradlee. 'I think it's going to be the most fun election of any I can remember for a long time,' he suggests. 'Hillary's got to be hard to beat' Bradlee is vice-president-at-large of the prestigious Washington Post, although he has long since retired from the executive editor hotseat he occupied from 1968 to 1991. He led the paper through probably its most famous years that included the successful challenge for the right to publish the Pentagon Papers and for the exposé of Richard Nixon's Watergate scandal."
