Hi Phillip, We rocked it in the elections and people are taking notice...We were just nominated for a Webby Award (!) and we need your help to win. What's a Webby? Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, the Webby Award is the largest international award celebrating great online work. We've been nominated in the category of best 'activism' site. The winners of the Webby Awards are decided by the votes of the people (we thought this was appropriate)...and now we need your help to win. Here's how you can vote: This awards show is like the Oscars for the Internet world and we are the Slumdog Millionaire of this season. Compared to the major ad agencies and corporations we are up against, our staff of 7 is scrappy, fights hard, comes in under budget and, yes, with your help we will take everyone by surprise. Will you vote for us and send it around to everyone you know? As this year's Webby Award show host Seth Meyers said, "It's a privilege to once again play a role in honoring the two percent of the Internet that's not porn-driven." Lets make sure he is honoring Rock the Vote! Thanks for voting, Best, Heather P.S. And don't forget to spread the word... Twitter: RT @rockthevote: Vote for Rock the Vote to win a Webby Award for best 'activism web site' - http://pv.webbyawards.com/ Post on Facebook MySpace, and your own personal blog- tell everyone you know. |
