Dear Friends, With President-elect Obama's historic inauguration almost here, the DCCC is pleased to announce the winner of our Witness History Contest. Congratulations to Shirley Hicks, from Trenton, New Jersey. Shirley works for a special education program in the Trenton public school system. Like millions of Americans, she is concerned about the challenges facing our country and is elated for the opportunity to witness this historic event. Thousands of DCCC supporters like Shirley participated in our Witness History Contest. Because of your overwhelming response, we want to give everyone an opportunity to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime event, wherever you choose to celebrate it. We're asking everyone to submit their inauguration stories, telling us how you celebrated the moment when President-elect Obama officially became America's 44th President. Submit your videos, stories, and ideas that tell everyone how you celebrated history. The deadline for submissions is Midnight on Sunday, January 25th. We'll create a compilation reel, showing how DCCC supporters celebrated this historic event and we'll post it online. Thanks again for all that you've done to make this historic moment possible.
