Exposing Republican Rhetoric

 

Dear Friends, Tell Republicans to Take a Stand We're approaching a decisive new chapter in our long fight to end the war in Iraq -- and with your help, we can make a difference. These next few weeks are critical. Now that General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker are testifying before Congress, Republicans in Congress will have to decide whether they will continue to Rubber Stamp the President's Iraq policy, or join Democrats and the vast majority of Americans demanding a New Direction. To show how scared the White House is, the President's closest friends are spending $15 million on a pro-war ad campaign to convince these Rubber Stamp Republicans to stay with the President on the war. That's why we need your help. After four and a half years of supporting the President's failed Iraq policy, even some of his Rubber Stamp Republican allies are getting tired of voting in lock-step with the Bush Administration. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is increasing the pressure on these Rubber Stamp Republicans with its new Web site, The Republican Record on Iraq. I'm asking all of the members of our people-powered movement to come visit the site and take action to end this war. It's time for Republicans to take a stand and stop saying one thing to their constituents about the war in Iraq and voting another when they are in Washington.
